Non Tutto È Perduto

Role: Montaggio, Color Correction, Mastering DCP

Non Tutto È Perduto

The Brief

Francesco Bellomo's debut feature, produced by Romana Film with support from Italy's Ministry of Culture. Based on Giuseppe Manfridi's play of the same name. Cast: Gioele Dix, Brenno Placido, Maurizio Micheli, Paolo Calissano. Project based in Rome.

The Challenge

86 minutes of dramatic film with nighttime football pitch scenes and domestic interiors. Two opposing visual worlds to balance. Final mastering for theatrical distribution (DCP) and streaming platforms (Amazon Prime Video).

The Solution

I handled complete editing and color correction. For the color I built two atmospheres: the cold blue of the nighttime pitch scenes, the warmth of the interiors. The exports required separate masters — DCP for theatrical, optimized files for Amazon Prime Video.

The Result

Theatrical release November 9, 2023 (distributed by Romana Film). Available on Amazon Prime Video.

Andrea Beruatto — Francesco, protagonist of Non Tutto È Perduto
Night football scene — Non Tutto È Perduto color correction by Piero Perilli
The film lives on two lights. The pitch scenes are nocturnal, sodium floodlights, cold blue cutting across faces. The domestic interiors are warm, enveloping — the world Francesco is trying to escape. In color correction I held this tension without ever making it heavy-handed. The editing had to find the rhythm of a film that shifts from comedy to drama without jarring. Gioele Dix and Brenno Placido give you material to work with — my job was not to waste a single beat.
Brenno Placido — Bala at the football pitch, Non Tutto È Perduto
Night confrontation — Brenno Placido and Gioele Dix, cinematic color correction
Maurizio Micheli — the agent, Non Tutto È Perduto
The theatrical export is a world of its own. DCP with precise specifications, different color space from streaming. Then the Amazon Prime Video master with its own technical requirements. Two destinations, two renderings — the film has to work on both. **Credits** Director: Francesco Bellomo Screenplay: Mauro Graiani, from the play by Giuseppe Manfridi Editing and Color Correction: Piero Perilli Cinematography: Bruno Cascio Music: Cris Ciampoli Production: Romana Film, supported by Italy's Ministry of Culture Theatrical release November 9, 2023 — available on Amazon Prime Video IMDB
