Breaking: from the street to the Olympics
Role: Montaggio e Color Grading

The Brief
The evolution of breakdancing from its street origins to becoming an internationally recognized Olympic discipline. Through the protagonists of the Italian scene, the documentary offers an in-depth look at the culture, history and social impact of this art form. 52 minutes, for RAI Documentari / RaiPlay. Directed by Fabrizio Silvestri.
The Challenge
Telling a journey from street to Olympic competition while maintaining the energy and rhythm of breaking culture. Material included international competition footage, interviews with protagonists, historical archive and original shoots — visually diverse sources to harmonize into a fluid 52-minute narrative. All post-production managed from Rome.
The Solution
Rhythmic narrative editing following the energy of dance, with color grading distinguishing eras (archive vs contemporary) while maintaining emotional coherence. The integrated workflow allowed synchronizing editing rhythm and chromatic look in real time, with no handoffs between editor and colorist. Directed by Fabrizio Silvestri.
The Result
A 52-minute documentary available on RaiPlay. The project demonstrated how the integrated editing-color workflow is particularly effective for documentaries with heterogeneous material and complex narrative rhythm.
