The Brief

Presentation film for the new GRAnROMA shopping center by Gruppo Fresia. Agency OM, creative director Prospero Di Veroli. My role: direction, 3D animation, VFX and editing. Project based in Rome.

The Challenge

Presenting a shopping center that doesn't exist yet. The film had to show the structure as if it were already built — photorealistic 3D renders integrated with drone footage of the actual site. All in a format that would convince investors and stakeholders.

The Solution

Modeling and rendering in 3ds Max from architectural plans. Compositing in After Effects to integrate renders with aerial drone footage of the site. Editing and color in DaVinci Resolve to give visual coherence between 3D and real footage.

Presentation film for investors and stakeholders of the GRAnROMA project.

GRAnROMA — Fresia

A shopping center that doesn't exist yet. From architectural drawings I built the entire structure in 3ds Max: glass facades, the orange canopy, silhouettes of visitors crossing the spaces. The render had to look like an aerial photo taken after construction, not an illustration. Fabio Zazzaretta's drone footage showed the site as it was — a plot of land, a road, Rome's sky. My job was to make these two realities coexist: the 3D of the future structure and the video of the present location.

This is a project where 3D isn't decoration: it's the tool that makes something exist before it exists. I handled every phase — from direction to modeling, from compositing to final editing. Working with Prospero Di Veroli as creative director meant having a clear vision and high standards.
