The Brief

Fashion film for Sylvio Giardina's Haute Couture Summer 2022 collection. Directed by Tania Alineri. My role: video artist — shooting, editing, color, visual effects. Project based in Rome.

The Challenge

Telling haute couture without showing the garments in focus. Tania Alineri's direction is all about blur — the pieces become shapes, colors, movements. The video must communicate the collection's essence without ever revealing the details.

The Solution

I worked as video artist handling shooting with Blackmagic Cinema Camera, editing and color correction in DaVinci Resolve. The blur isn't an effect added in post — it's the visual language of the film, built in-camera and refined in post-production.

The Result

Everything out of focus. That's the radical choice of this fashion film: don't show the garments, make them felt. The shapes of the dresses emerge from the blur like silhouettes in motion — the model's body becomes abstract architecture. Black absorbs, aqua green floats, skin is a soft surface between fabrics. Second collaboration with Sylvio Giardina after Frangiamore. Two opposite approaches: there monumental Rome and sharp garments, here a gray studio and total blur. Same designer, two languages.
