ISOLE (Islands)

Cortometraggio selezionato al festival di Cannes del 2016 . Il film è ambientato sull'isola abbandonata di Santo Stefano e sull'isola di Ventotene, a 20 km dalle coste della Regione Lazio. Simbolo e riferimento del nodo ispiratore del film è la figura di una donna che ha ucciso anziani così gravemente malati da spingere i familiari o la stessa vittima a richiedere il servizio per l'eutanasia, chiamata con il nome sardo "Femina Accabadora" (Lei che termina). Il protagonista della storia è in realtà un uomo che nella finzione teatrale si chiama Anselmo De Girolamo, di cinquant'anni, un vedovo, affetto da mal di mare e dal dolore della vita. “Non aveva scelto quel lavoro da solo, il caso l'aveva scelto per alleviare tutte le sofferenze e liberare le anime. E ne aveva liberati molti. Ha accettato denaro solo in cambio di bare, e non ha mai accettato nessuno solo per eseguire l'eutanasia. "

The film is set on the abandoned island of Santo Stefano and on the island of Ventotene, 20 km away from the coasts of Lazio Region.
Symbol and reference of the node inspirer of the film is the figure of a woman who killed old people so seriously ill to push family members or the same victim to request the service for euthanasia, called by a Sardinian name "Femina Accabadora" (She who ends).

The protagonist of the story is actually a man who in the theatrical fiction is called Anselmo De Girolamo, of fifty, a widower, suffering from sea sickness and pain of living.
“He hadn't chosen that job himself, chance had chosen it to relieve all suffering and free the souls.
